The Learning Environment
Your local learning environment
Learning will occur most effectively in a positive and
encouraging atmosphere. This is where the psychological and
physical environment is tuned to encourage the transfer of
knowledge and skills and reflective work practices. Nurses,
Midwives and Allied Health Professionals frequently have to
facilitate learning in a variety of different settings on a daily
basis. A key asset of the effective practitioner is to be adaptable
in your facilitation and teaching style and be conscious that we
often make assumptions about how others learn based on our own
experiences and preferred learning styles. It's useful to reflect
on your own learning experiences and investigate how it influences
the way in which you support others to learn.
Releasing Time to Learn is a national resource that assists
