The TURAS learning platform

TURAS is a national, learning management environment the has many elements designed to support the effective practitioner. Within this digital platform you will find applications that support appraisal, continuing professional development (CPD) and recording and presenting CPD evidence in the form of a digital portfolio.


Many of the national learning resources that support current health policy and initiatives are found here. By signing into the system, you can build your CPD. action your learning plan and add relevant learning resources to your favourites in the 'My Learn 'section.

TURAS Professional Portfolio

Your TURAS portfolio will allow you to record, store and present information and evidence relating to your CPD. There are sections to assist you collate and structure and your professional journey to date as well as record objectives and personal development plans. There are a multitude of evidence forms for you to record your learning in readiness for regulatory/revalidation processes and associated logs. The personal library acts as a repository for you to store complementary evidence digitally and in any file format.

All information is secure and confidential to the user and as much or as little of the content can be shared safely via a secure email link.

TURAS Appraisal

TURAS appraisal is the application designed to allow practitioners to record evidence of achievements and future organisational objectives relating to their role. This application replaces eKSF as the way for NHS Scotland employees to undertake the personal develop review and appraisal process.
